Part of what makes Suffolk Surprising: 6232 Burbage Acres Drive. Built in 1997, this spacious Colonial home has had more than $60,000 worth of upgrades added to the original quality construction. Well maintained is a true understatement here! Upgrades include a relaxing sun room and deck to enhance the family room,
new kitchen including granite counter tops, new appliances, a new heating/cooling system, and a finished garage. Original features include the large master bedroom with a delightful sitting area, the large backyard, and the wood fence.
Now the backyard includes a wonderful garden spot with apples, asparagus bed, pears, and blueberries. Of course, there’s a shed for storage of tools and treasures.
Burbage Grant is a master-planned community with twelve distinct neighborhoods, it’s the pristine homes and impressive location that have made Burbage Grant a booming hit in the Hampton Roads area. The neighborhood name comes from a land grant King Charles I gave to brothers Thomas and James Burbage in 1637. The amenities, a mix of affordable three- and five-bedroom homes nestled into a hodgepodge of playgrounds, picnic shelters, athletic fields and an elementary school that doubles as the neighborhood’s community center, are pure 21st century fine living!
Burbage Grant was the first community developed as part of the larger Harbour View area in North East Suffolk. It is right in the heart of Hampton Roads, Virginia, a mere twelve minutes from Downtown Norfolk and Newport News. Conveniently located off I-664, near the Monitor Merrimac Bridge Tunnel, this community is in close proximity to the scenic views and recreational opportunities of the Nansemond and James Rivers.
Another benefit of Burbage Grant’s location is that it enjoys the conveniences of being just a few blocks from Harbour View. This new “downtown” located in Northern Suffolk is already the home of numerous corporate and retail facilities including the Bon Secours Health Center and Emergency Department, two Marriott hotels and a Hilton Garden Inn, a 16-cinema complex, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, TowneBank, numerous restaurants, and more. And, the upcoming Harbour View Town Center is a new 126-acre project that is expected to feature more than two million square feet of retail, office, residential and hotel space.
More convenient location approximate commutes: within 20-30 minutes you can be at EVMS/Sentara medical complex, Chistorpher Newport University in Newport News, the Towne Center complex in Virginia Beach, or Greenbrier Mall/Chesapeake Regional Medical Center area. The Harborview Medical Complex is less than 10 minutes, the Maryview Hospital Portsmouth is under 15 minutes, and the Navy Regional Medical Center is just 16 minutes.
Schools that serve this community are: Northern Shores Elementary, 6701 Respass Beach Road; John Yeates Middle, 4901 Bennett’s Pasture Road; and Nansemond River High, 3301 Nansemond Parkway.
